How to cancel Netflix

Online, on the Manage your membership page. Here are the steps, your options and what to say.

How to cancel Netflix

  1. Go to the Manage your membership page. You may need to sign in first.
  2. Select Cancel.
  3. Under Cancel, select Finish Cancellation.
  4. Netflix sends a confirmation email to the address on the account.

Good to know

  • Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel your membership.
  • If you cancel with time left in your billing period, you can keep watching until the end of that period.
  • If you don't see a cancel option, you pay through a partner. Your Account page shows how to cancel with them.

Before you cancel

Pause instead of cancelling

Netflix lets you pause your membership for 1 month instead of cancelling, and extend the pause up to 3 months in total. You aren't charged while paused, then your current plan price is charged again. Pausing isn't available on the Basic plan or with some payment methods, such as Direct Debit, gift cards and some partner payments.
